People approach these problems with the two mindsets… Carol Dweck pioneered the concept of Growth Mindset and presents a synopsis of her work in this TED talk titled, “The Power of Yet” (aka “The power of believing that you can improve”). While her work originated in the K-12 school culture, growth mindset applies to work, to sports, to relationships, to self-development. Carol Dweck’s Ted Talks presentation opens with a powerful little story about a high school in Chicago where students had to pass a certain number of courses in order to graduate. Instead of giving failing grades to those who did not pass, the school simply wrote “not yet” on a student’s report card. Carol Dweck is a professor at Stanford University, a psychologist and a pioneering researcher in the field of motivation and growth mindset. We talk about her Ted Talk, The power of believing you can improve.
